Henrietta “Hen” Knight – the trainer of more than 700 winners, including legendary Gold Cup hero Best Mate – has revealed to H&H she is retiring from racing.
The announcement comes seven months after Hen’s husband, three-times champion jockey Terry Biddlecombe, suffered a debilitating stroke.
“I feel that I can’t go on training since Terry’s stroke,” said Hen.
She admitted it was an “emotional” decision to make.
But the 65-year-old – who has finished in the top 12 at Badminton and breeds and shows Connemaras – won’t be giving up all her equestrian interests just yet.
