Help us catch the scammers! Victims urged to come forward

  • Have you been the victim of a convincing advertising scam? If so, H&H would like you to come forward to help us catch the culprits.

The scammers telephone H&H advertisers, claiming to be part of our advertising team. They then claim that, owing to an earlier glitch taking payment, they need to take card details again.

One customer had £1,200 stolen from their account.

In July H&H warned readers about the scam, but the problem appears to be on the increase.

“We are taking this matter very seriously,” said H&H private classifieds manager Paula-Jayne Mitchell, “and would ask anyone who has fallen victim to the scam to come forward.

“We have reported it to the police and we have a few leads so far, but we need affected readers to come forward in the hope we can find the culprits and stop them.”
