Prestigious polo club offers emergency stabling to flood victims

  • Guards Polo Club is offering free emergency stabling for horses which have been affected by the flooding.

The club has spare stables at Flemish Farm which is less than 4 miles across Windsor Great Park from Smith’s Lawn.

“Our usual Flemish Farm residents are not due in for another few weeks and so we have some space for emergency stabling for those affected by the flooding,” said a spokesman from Guards Polo Club.

3 horses took up residence yesterday from Blue Acre Horse Rescue and there are spaces for a few more”.

Anyone who is in need of stabling can contact Emma Leiva or Tara Smith on 01784 434212.

In other parts of the country efforts to co-ordinate the delivery of donations of hay and haylage to Somerset are continuing.

Hunts and equestrian communities are coming together to send lorries of forage down to the area which has been flooded for more than a month.
