Flat jockey William Buick suffers broken jaw in nightclub incident

  • Flat jockey William Buick, 23, has a suspected broken jaw and facial injuries after what he described as a “random unprovoked attack” in a Dubai nightclub.

The dual St Leger-winning jockey was at a party with other jockeys to mark the retirement of jockey Richard Hills, when he was “attacked” in the early hours of Wednesday morning (29 February).

William, who was riding out in Dubai, is flying back to England to see a specialist and has been forced to give up his rides at Meydan today (Thursday 1 March).

Local police are reported to be investigating.
