Exciting new rides for Ben Maher from American owner

  • Ben Maher has announced he has five new rides coming his way from the wealthy American owner, Jane Forbes Clark.

They include Urico, who won a US Olympic selection trial in May with Ms Forbes Clark’s previous rider, Mario Deslauriers.

    They have since parted company.

Ben tweeted: “Pleased to welcome the team and horses of Jane Forbes Clark!

“This will help Tripple X III and strengthen my team of horses.”

Ben will continue to be based in the UK and ride for his existing owners, including Mike and Emma Phillips of Quainton Stud, with whom he owns his Olympic gold medal winner, Tripple X.

“For Team GBR it means one of our leading riders has greater strength in depth,” said Performance Manager, Will Connell.

“Having chatted to Jane, this is about her finding the right rider for her horses. The fact he’s British was not a factor.”

She will continue to support the Americans, he added.
