Driving trials competitors enjoyed a great weekend of sport, courtesy of Windsor Park Equestrian Club
Windsor Park Equestrian Club held an open competition alongside its driving championships on 18-19 August, providing an additional 50 driving trials competitions with a much appreciated chance to compete.
Hardly any driving trials competitions have taken place this year due to the nature of the sport and the associated risks during the ongoing FMD crisis.
The dressage and cones competitions were held on the Guards Polo Club Ground on Smiths Lawn, while the marathon was routed through Windsor Great Park and included eight obstacles, two of them featuring water splashes.
The largest class was the open single horse in which Di Hayes finished 20 points clear of the rest of the field.
Dick Lane scored his first win in horse teams and Ursula Hirschberg, who had a year off competition last season, claimed a convincing win in the pony teams.
