    The Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup final for the British Open Polo Championshiptakes place at Cowdray Park Polo Club, West Sussex, on Sunday, 21 July 2002.

    Sponsored by the champagne house Veuve Clicquot for the eighth successive year, the 22-goal series opens on Saturday, 29 June.

    Some of the world’s finest players will be taking part in around 40 matches during the course of the series to decide the coveted British Open title, won in 2001 by Sheikh Ali Albwardy’s Dubai team.

    This year will also see the best of the Young EnglandPlayers in an exciting international game playing for the John Cowdray Trophy.
