Does your house have an equestrian-inspired look?

  • Do you still dream of a horsey bedroom, but don’t know how to make the move from rosettes and collages of Milton to a smart equestrian-inspired look?

Then Wiltshire-based Twist Interior Design can help.

Interior designer and rider Charlotte Lawrence has started producing designs to bring the stable yard into your house.

“So far it’s mostly been hunting people and Pony Club mums who have used the service, not top riders as yet,” she said.

“Some have gone the whole hog, with horsey wallpaper and curtains and horseshoes on the upholstery.

“But I tend to be asked to be a bit more subtle than that.”

If you’re in a DIY mood, Charlotte said the look is quite easy to achieve yourself.

She suggests using polo sticks as curtain rails with stirrups and leathers as unusual curtain tiebacks. Or you could brighten up an old mirror frame by attaching spurs and bits to it.
