Do you want to learn the medieval art of ’tilting’?

  • The British Horse Society is looking for Scottish riders willing to travel to Denmark to learn the medieval art of ’tilting’ – riding towards an ever-decreasing ring with a lance.

A Scottish team is being formed to take part in the 2012 Sonderborg Ringriding Festival in Jutland, where tilting is a competitive sport.

Then the first tilting contest in Scotland for around 450 years will be held at the BHS Borders Festival of the Horse in 2013.

Riders of all ages are invited to apply to be part of the team. The only cost is the flight to Denmark.

To find out more, contact Borders Festival organiser Ann Fraser at abfraser@btinternet.com or wandaadodd@hotmail.com.
