Dead horse with cart discovered floating in River Severn

  • The RSPCA is appealing for information after a dead horse attached to a cart was pulled out of the River Severn in Worcester.

The animal was spotted floating in the water on Saturday (7 July) in the Grand Stand Road area and its body – complete with carriage – retrieved by the local fire and rescue team.

RSPCA inspector Pippa Boyd said: “This is a deeply unsettling incident and we urgently need the public’s help. At the moment we have no idea when this happened, so we need to hear from anyone who can shed some light on this dreadful discovery.”
