    Alison Dare jumped her way into the point-to-point record books at the Avon Vale meeting in March, when ladies’open scorer Split Second became her 300th winner, but she was the first to admit that luck was on her side — Hi Rudolf and Susie Samworth parting company at the last when in command.

    Alison confessed afterwards that the pressure had been fairly intense and that her main feeling was one of relief.
