Charlotte Dujardin and Uthopia win on debut

  • Charlotte Dujardin won the grand prix and kur at Saumur CDI (2-5 May) riding her team-mate and mentor Carl Hester’s Olympic mount Uthopia.

Carl took second in both classes, riding Fine Time IV for Gemma Appleton, who recently had her first child. He also won the grand prix on Thursday (2 May) and the special with Dances With Wolves.

Uthopia had been the subject of an injunction, which prevented him from travelling outside the UK. It is understood that the terms of the injunction have now been relaxed, enabling him to be competed and sold.
