New TV programme is holding televised auditions for a new canine star to feature in popular soap Emmerdale
Hot on the heels of the fly-on-the-wall documentary Popstars comes a new canine version called Dogstars, which looks set to make a doggy dream come true.
London Weekend Television will be following the fortunes of dogs and their owners at an open televised audition for a new canine part in the popular soap Emmerdale.
The programme, Dogstars, will be part of the new documentary series called Soapstars, which is looking for a family of five to become part of the soap, Emmerdale.
Series producer, Tim Miller, said “Dogs have a long history of appearing in soaps andwe believe Dogstars will be a hilarious addition to the Soapstars series.”
The animals, which must be medium-sized family dogs, will be asked to undertake various tasks at the audition.
The winner, which will be given training before appearing in Emmerdale, must live within 12 miles of Leeds.
The auditions take place on 21 August at the South Leeds Sports Stadium, Middleton Grove, Leeds.
Registration takes place from 8.30am. LWT says it cannot guarantee all the dogs will be seen.
