British boy will ride in Obama’s presidential parade

  • Sixteen-year-old British boy Lawrence Dann-Fenwick is to take part in the historic inauguration of the American president Barack Obama tomorrow, as part of a mounted escort.

Lawrence will be among 80 students from his school, the Culver Academies in Indiana, to take part in the parade along Pennsylvania Avenue.

Culver Academies’ Black Horse Troop has been a part of presidential inaugurations since 1913.

Originally from Tadworth, Surrey, Lawrence moved to the states with his family nine years ago, but retains British citizenship.

He has been riding his mount Tacoma for more than a year.
