Jock Paget and Kevin McNab cleared of doping

  • Jock Paget and Kevin McNab have both been cleared of doping after their horses tested positive for banned substance reserpine at last year’s Burghley horse trials.

The FEI has issued its final decision and in both cases has stated that the riders, who are the persons responsible, had “no fault or negligence for the rule violation”.

The final hearing has concluded that the substance had entered the horses’ system through a supplement called LesstressE and that contamination had occurred at the manufacturing stage.

In April a partial decision was reached by the FEI in the case of Jock Paget stripping him of his Burghley title. This decision still stands and Kevin has also been disqualified from Burghley as both horses competed on an illegal substance.
