The British Horse Society (BHS) is auctioning off 15 celebrity-donated items on eBay in the run up to Christmas this year.
Signed photos from Piggy French, Richard Dunwoody and Simon Cowell, as well as original equine artwork and signed books from Jilly Cooper and John Francome are on offer.
And a one-off commissioned Stevenson Brothers’ rocking horse in the form of eventing superstar Headley Britannia is high on the bidding agenda.
All proceeds will go towards their ‘Drawing the Line’ campaign, which aims to educate people on responsible breeding and the implications of overproduction.
Supporter of the campaign Mary King said: “In the UK we end up producing too many unsuitable horses and ponies which face an uncertain future.
“That’s why I support the BHS’s campaign and want to urge people to ‘Think before you breed’,” she said.
The BHS’s campaign – launched in 2009 – is also supported by top riders and TV personalities including Team Fredericks, Carl Hester, Martin Clunes and Clare Balding.
