A new feed designed specifically for aging horses and ponies has been launched by Allen & Page.
Veteran Vitality is part of Allen & Page’s barley- and molasses-free range and has been specially formulated for horses and ponies showing the first signs of ageing.
Veteran Vitality is low in starch and sugar and is also suitable for horses with intolerances to barley, molasses and alfalfa.
“High in fibre and fully balanced with vitamins and minerals, Veteran Vitality provides all the nutritional requirements for optimum health in older horses and ponies,” said a spokesman for Allen & Page.
“Veteran horses commonly suffer from poor teeth, but Veteran Vitality is easily soaked in under three minutes to form a palatable mash. Containing tasty mint, fenugreek and garlic, Veteran Vitality will tempt even the fussiest of feeders and is easily chewed and digested.”
The feed also contains live protexin probiotics to boost friendly bacteria in the gut, enabling the horse to efficiently utilise the nutrients in the feed, and help maintain weight and condition.
Veteran Vitality will be available in stores from 4 October 2010.
