Mendip hunt kennels have moved

  • The Mendip Farmers’ hunt has moved to a temporary base while they resolve the dispute surrounding planned new kennels.

Since 2008, residents of Priddy, Somerset, have campaigned against planning permission for the hunt to move to Underbarrow Farm in the village, after their former base was sold.

Now the hunt have applied for permission for temporary stables and kennels in Green Ore, while the planning application is reviewed.

“We moved in a couple of weeks ago and will be hunting as usual this season,” said joint master Mike Sheppard.

The hunt’s opening meet is on 30 October at The Green, Priddy.
