The volunteers at the charity all have varied roles — but they mainly help to re-home horses across the UK using the charity’s 4 Rescue and Rehoming Centres.

World Horse Welfare’s Roly Owers said: “We are so fortunate to have a team of more than 400 volunteers who support our work across the charity. While we never forget the precious time they give, national volunteers’ week is a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the huge contribution they make.

“During this week, we recognise each and every volunteer by thanking them for their kindness, commitment and the significant value that they bring, most importantly to our horses.”
