The Conservative Party has pledged that a vote on whether to overturn the hunting ban will appear on its election manifesto, according to shadow environment minister Nick Herbert, who made the announcement at Peterborough Foxhound Show (22 July).
And, on Monday, a spokesman for the Tories confirmed this, saying: “We have agreed that if we were to win the next parliament, we would hold a free vote on hunting.”
Countryside Alliance spokesman Tim Bonner said: “It is crucially important. Nick was saying it is not just about getting rid of a bad law, but also a personal issue for a number of MPs.”
