Top event stallion dies

  • Sue Lanz’s well-known eventing stallion, Matinee Du Madon, has died suddenly aged 16.

The Selle Francais chestnut competed successfully in all disciplines, winning the Burghley Young Event Horse final in 1991 before reaching advanced level eventing.

Retiring to stud, he was champion at the SHB (GB) stallion grading.

He sired eventers such as Friday Feeling, Friday Morning and Tangleman, who was second at last weekend’s Rolex Kentucky event with Polly Stockton.
