Why was event rider Oliver Townend wearing a purple tutu?

  • Why has Oliver Townend been snapped dressed in a purple tutu?

The event rider was trying his hand at vaulting during the first leg of The Champions Tour.

Vaulting is just one of a number of “entertainment antics” that have been amusing crowds on the first leg of the riders’ tour — which finished on Saturday.

According to a spokesman for the tour, the show brings “lots of fresh new material plus musical entertainment from rising singer songwriter Dave Clough….and unique horsemanship skills from the sassy Jive Pony”.

The first leg of the tour finished in Lancashire on Saturday, with the second leg starting on 24 January at Brook Farm in Essex.

    Tickets start at £23.
