Tweseldown Changes

  • Laura Collett and Fernhill Sox are overnight leaders at Tweseldown. Collett, from Moreton in Marsh jumped a stylish round within the time and will contest today’s show jumping phase on a score of 43.8 pen. Mark Ford and Castlebanny Prince are in second position on 49.8 pen with New Zealand’s Joe Meyer in third.

Mike Etherington-Smith’s almost completely new two-star course required plenty of attacking and caught out a handful of top names. Etherington-Smith described the track as a “middle of the road two-star course” and it included doubles of corners, skinnies and a footbridge (pictured).

In the CIC* Dan Jocelyn is first with Savoir Faer with Elizabeth Halliday, Sacha Pemble and Gemma Tattersall all still in the running. Jocelyn also lies fourth on Rachael Wakefield’s Gideon.

Collett, who is just 16-years-old, won a novice section at Broadway on Rayef earlier this month.

    Final Tweseldown results to follow.
