Mitsubishi Motors is sponsoring Hartpury College’s three-day event in a new move by the company, which already supports the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials.
The agreement between Mitsubishi Motors and Hartpury, which is a leading centre for equine studies, includes title sponsorship of the college’s annual BE three-day event, which this year takes place on 12-15 August, as well as providing a fleet of Mitsubishi vehicles for college use.
Amanda Bond, event director at Hartpury says the college is delighted with the sponsorship, which has been agreed initially for one-year.
Amanda explains: “Hartpury is looking forward to working with Mitsubishi, which brings with it a wealth of experience from Badminton.
“The agreement will also see Mitsubishi provide vehicles for Carl Hester and Leslie Law, who have been involved with the college for some three years. In return, both riders will give regular clinics and lecture demonstrations here.”
Jim Tyrrell, managing director of Mitsubishi Motors, says: “We are very happy to extend our involvement within the equestrian world.”
The partnership are also planning a joint initiative to promote safer towing and travelling at the three-day event and the British Equine Event.
Amanda says: “The college will be providing information about protecting the horse in preparation for transit and best practice on loading, while Mitsubishi Motors will give expert advice on towing.”
