British Olympic dressage team hopeful Laura Bechtolsheimer will give a dressage display at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (4-7 September) this year for the first time.
Laura, 23, will give displays of dressage to music at lunchtime and the end of the day on Friday, 5 September. Her mount will be her retired British team horse Douglas Dorsey (pictured), with whom she won the national dressage championships in 2005.
Other attractions at Burghley include the Pony Club team show jumping, a stallion parade, the Burghley Loddon young event horse finals, a concours d’elegance and a parade of donkey driving.
“We have a full and varied programme of events taking place alongside the main competition with something for enthusiasts of all equestrian disciplines as well as our regular ardent eventing supporters,” said Burghley director Elizabeth Inman. “We particularly look forward to welcoming Laura Bechtolsheimer on her first visit here and wish her all the best in her bid for a place in our Olympic dressage team.”
The box office is now open for Burghley, with advance bookings taken until 14 August. Tel: 01458 250200 or visit www.burghley-horse.co.uk.
