Germany’s Bettina Hoy and Peaceful Warrior have stormed into the lead at the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials, leaving Andrew Hoy in their wake.
Earlier this morning Andrew Hoy, who is contempting for the $250,000 Rolex Grand Slam, took the lead ahead of last year’s winners William Fox-Pitt and Ballincoola.
But Hoy’s lead was to be shortlived — half an hour later his wife and the striking skewbald Peaceful Warrior trumped his mark by over four penalties to take the lead on a runaway score of 37.2.
