Horse & Hound’s Starting Box grass roots eventing reports return

  • Horse & Hound’s grass roots eventing page, Starting Box, returns to the magazine in 15 March issue.

Each week, Starting Box focuses on the best stories from British Eventing sections from BE80(T) up to intermediate novice level.

The page highlights first-time winners, home-bred heroes, successful younger riders and hard-working amateurs, as well as bringing you news and views on issues affecting grass roots eventers.

The first Starting Box of 2012 in the 15 March Horse & Hound features a report from the opening weekend of the season at Moreton, Dorset (3-4 March).

If you win a section this year from BE80(T) to intermediate novice at an affiliated event and would like to feature on Starting Box, get in touch by emailing startingbox@hotmail.co.uk within 24 hours of your success.

Please tell us why you think you should be included – do you have an interesting job or juggle eventing and family commitments? Perhaps your horse has a fascinating background or is particularly quirky? Or did you overcome huge obstacles to compete? Please also include a contact telephone number in case we need more information.

The first eventing reports of 2012 will feature in next week’s issue (8 March) which will include a report from Isleham, Cambs (3-4 March) and Ballindenisk, Ireland (24-26 February). USA team trainer and renowned course-designer Mark Phillips’ column also returns in 8 March issue, while 2008 Olympic double bronze medallist Tina Cook’s first comment of 2012 will be in the magazine on 15 March.
