Henbury Hall off the BE calendar for 2009

  • British Eventing (BE) is scouting out new venues in the north of England following the news that Henbury Hall Horse Trials will not happen in 2009.

“Sadly, Henbury Hall International Horse Trials will not be running next year,” said Chris Shaw, BE regional director for Wales and the Central North.

“For the last 19 years its very supportive landlord has offered up his estate, for which British Eventing would like to thank him, as well as the organizing committee for all their hard work. BE are currently looking into alternatives in the north of England for next year.”

Henbury ran classes up to open intermediate level and last year went international for the first time, hosting a CIC*. But the event’s second day on 25 August, a bank holiday Monday, was cancelled after heavy rainfall made the ground impossible.
