Equestrian enthusiasts can help the British Olympic squad on their road to Athens by attending fund-raising events at the Catherston Stud, Hants this weekend (28-29 February).
Olympic event rider William Fox-Pitt will discuss and demonstrate the preparation of different types of event horse to the highest level, using his six Athens long-listed horses on Saturday from 2pm.
An open sport horse stallion viewing day will take place on Sunday, including a parade of stallions who have competed, or whose progeny have competed, at the highest level in dressage, show jumping or eventing or are registered with a recognised Word Breeding Federation society. The two performances start at 10.30am and 2.30pm.
The money raised will go to the British Equestrian Federation Fund (formerly the British Equestrian Olympic Fund) to help cover the costs of sending Britain’s best riders and horses to Athens.
Tickets for Saturday cost £15 each or £45 for a family (two adults, two children). Tickets for each performance on Sunday cost £7.50.
