Fox-Pitt calls it a day

  • After careful consideration William Fox-Pitt has withdrawn Tamarillo from the remainder of Badminton Horse Trials. A dressage score of 49.8 pen stood the pair in equal 15th position after the dressage phase.

“We’ve not taken the decision lightly,” Fox-Pitt told HHO this afternoon, “But we have decided to save him for the World Championships. Due to where he is lying and having the early draw we have had to make a decision now.

“We would only want to risk it if he was in the top places – our main target is now Aachen.”

Fox-Pitt and his second ride Ballincoola will set off on the cross-country course at approximately 3:46pm tomorrow afternoon. In today’s dressage phase the pair scored 50.7 pen, putting them into 17th position.
