Four-star horse Running Order joins William Fox-Pitt’s team

  • William Fox-Pitt has “an exciting addition” to his team in the shape of four-star horse Running Order, previously ridden by the USA’s Doug Payne and owned by Patti Springsteen.

The horse has been bought by American owner Mandy Gray, who also has Before Time — recently fifth in the CCI** at Weston Park — with William.

Running Order is a 10-year-old Irish thoroughbred, by Luso. He has been placed in the top 10 six times at three-star level and finished 18th on his first four-star run at Kentucky last year, with 20 jumping penalties across country.

The horse’s former rider, Doug, 30, is an up-and-coming rider in America. Doug’s mother is frequent four-star ground jury member Marilyn Payne and his sister Holly also rides at the top level and competed at Kentucky last year.
