Fee increases reflect “very difficult year”, says British Eventing

  • British Eventing (BE) is to keep fees for membership and horse registrations at their 2012 levels next season.

But start fees are to rise, to reflect that British Dressage judges may now charge events for their services. The start fee may be increased by £2 per horse up to intermediate level and by £5 for advanced. Entry fees will also increase, by 3%.

Abandonment insurance will also go up from 9.5% per entry to 12%, as a result of the level of claims experienced during the very wet season, which is just below £1.7million.

BE’s financial director Wendy McGowan said increases had been kept to the “absolute minimum”, despite what she described as an “extremely difficult year”.
