Event rider on the move

  • Three-day event rider and professional racing driver Liz Halliday has taken over the ownership of Chailey Stud equestrian centre in East Sussex.

Halliday has competed to CCI*** level and has also raced in the Le Mans 24hr race as part of her motorsport commitments. She has already moved her new premises, which boasts 30 stables, a 60x30m indoor school and a six-horse covered horse walker.

Halliday plans to offer a variety of equestrian services to clients, including livery, school rental, lessons and clinics. She is hoping to expand her training business and attract more horse owners.

“We have endless potential here and it’s a very exciting project,” she said. “It [Chailey Stud] gives me an opportunity to bring added value to my current clients as well as expanding the business to offer a range of other services.

“With the help of my staff and my new husband, Al, we’ve already begun the improvements that we believe will make Chailey Stud one of the best equestrian centres in the region.”
