    A young rider medallist, Daisy Berkeley (n ©e Dick) made her senior squad debut as an individual at the 1997 Burghley European Championships on Little Victor, but pulled up on the cross-country.

    It wasn’t until 2005 that she got another championship chance, finishing 11th at the Blenheim European Championships with her “horse of a lifetime” Spring Along.

    A year later the pair were on the team at the World Equestrian Games, collecting team silver, and at the 2007 European Championships they won team gold. Daisy was called up from the reserve slot to ride for Britain at the Olympics in Hong Kong, taking team bronze.

    Daisy and Spring Along won the CIC*** at Barbury Castle in 2009 and in 2010 took the British open title at Gatcombe – Daisy announced her first pregnancy after her winning cross-country ride.

    Daisy’s mother, Caroline, was placed at Badminton and Burghley and her late father, jump jockey Dave Dick, won the Grand National and Gold Cup.

    Daisy was born in 1972, is based in Gloucestershire and married Charles Berkeley in the autumn of 2009.
