BE’s frangible pins pass rigorous tests


  • Frangible pins currently used for British Eventing (BE) competitions have been approved by horse sport’s governing body, the FEI, for use in international events.

    A new rule, which came into force on 1 January 2013, required all frangible technology to undergo rigorous testing using a custom built pendulum.

    The tests resulted in BE’s traditional short front and reverse fitting pins meeting the new specification. The Swedish MIM Clip and Newera Pin have also recently been passed.
