Bramham International Horse Trials (2-5 June 2011) has secured title sponsorship from Welcome to Yorkshire.
The regional tourism board will support Yorkshire’s largest equestrian fixture as part of its remit to increase visitors to the county.
Bramham’s director, Nicholas Pritchard, said: “This is an exciting partnership for the event and I look forward to working with Welcome to Yorkshire to build Bramham into Yorkshire’s largest sporting event.
“The company’s investment will allow us to improve the promotion of the event as well as helping us to invest in improving the overall Bramham experience for competitors, sponsors and visitors.”
Yorkshire’s tourism economy has just been valued at £7bn for the first time after a boom in visitors. In the first 15 months since Welcome to Yorkshire’s launch, the county has seen a 22% increase in the number of overnight holiday visitors — almost double the UK average of 12%.
Gary Verity, chief executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, said: “This exciting new partnership will strengthen our bid to bring even more people into Yorkshire.”
The event box office opens on 1 February.
