Paralympic rider Nicola Tustain’s top horse injured

  • The top ride of Britain’s Paralympic dressage rider Nicola Tustain has been injured, ruling her out of the 2007 World Championships at Hartpury College (20-22 July).

Tony and Sarah Pidgley’s Prinz Heinrich, with whom Nicola became grade II Paralympic bronze medallist and European and World Champion, is lame and on box rest.

Nicola declined to tell H&H what had happened, but said she is “devastated”.

“It will be at least nine months before we know how well repaired his injury is,” she said.

If anyone has a horse they could loan, they are urged to get in touch with squad coach Michel Assouline (tel: 07850 639538).
