New rider for dressage’s “Dr B”


  • German dressage rider Marcus Gribbe is to be based with Dr Bechtolsheimer.

    German grand prix rider Marcus Gribbe has confirmed that he is to move to England at the beginning of October.

    Marcus, a winner of the CDI grand prix at Hickstead last year with the stallion Plaisir d’ Amour is to join Dr Wilfried Bechtolsheimer, the British team rider with whom Carl Hester and Kirsty Mepham were formely based .

    For thepast 10 years Marcus has been associated with the German food producers Meggle, recently riding Meggle Biagiotti and the Rubinstein gelding Meggle Rubino with whom he won the prix st georges at Hickstead last year.

    Marcus is moving to Gloucestershire with his wife and one-year-old daughter.

    “It is time for a change and I am very much looking forward to moving to England – the countryside is so beautiful,” said Marcus.
