I hope you are enjoying following my regular diary updates in the run up to the event to show what’s really going on behind the scenes.
As assistant director every day is different so I am glad to have a fantastic team behind me including our onsite team Cordelia, Jenny, Julia, Lucie, Lydia and Sophie to name a few who are all doing a sterling job.
This week we had a local media gathering at Blair Castle, we managed to get out onto some of the course for a sneak preview of the challenges facing some of Europe’s best riders. Our course designer Ian Stark gave an insightful tour of the new cross-country course and gave us an interesting perspective on cross-country riding. We also had a site visit from assistant 
technical delegate David Merrett this week.
We are really pleased with the Joules range for Blair 2015 that includes polo shirts, jackets, gilets and more. The design process for clothing takes time so seeing the garments finished and ready to be worn is exciting for us all. Take a look at the new Official Blair collection at www.joules.com
The event site has transformed in the past few weeks with the grandstand seating and marquees going up and the very important installation of the TV platform to ensure that anyone who cannot attend the event will still be able to experience and follow the competition with the TV coverage.
On another note the office team were extremely happy when our generous sponsors, Pol Roger, delivered a pallet of champagne! We also had a lovely welcome surprise from the British Horse Society Scotland today who arrived with strawberry tarts to keep us all going!
There is still plenty to do and we are keeping to our schedules and we are excited to host a truly special Longines FEI European Eventing Championship.
