A three-day residential course for horse owners has been set up along the lines of a traditional pony club camp to provide adult riders with the chance to improve their riding and stable management skills.
Established in 2002, Horse Camp aims to provide riders with the opportunity to train in a wide variety of disciplines, from showing and show jumping to dressage and eventing, in a relaxed and friendly environment.
A number of different courses are run at various locations during the year with more dates being arranged. Two of the most popular venues include Myerscough College near Preston and Somerford Park in Cheshire.
Campers can either arrange their own accommodation or hire a tent or caravan through Horse Camp. Most of the venues have toilet, shower facilities and dining areas. Transport for you and your horse can also be organised, should you need it.
Each rider can expect to receive daily tuition of around three hours from a qualified instructor or competition rider.
The cost of a a three-day course starts at £115 and includes stabling and bedding for your horse but not hard feed.
