A limited edition bronze of a huntsman by hunting artist John King is to be sold by sealed bids in aid of the Countryside Alliance.
John King is perhaps best known in hunting and equestrian circles for his illustration of the hunt report pages in Horse & Hound. He has hunted and point-to-pointed all his life, and specializes in all equestrian and field sports. His art takes him around the world from the racetracks of Saudi Arabia to the hunting fields of Ireland.
Kings limited edition sculpture (the fifth out of 10) is modelled on a well-known amateur huntsman. Worth £5,000, it will be sold by sealed bids over £2,500. The sculpture is on view throughout the John King Exhibition at Ackermann and Johnson, which includes the artists Horse & Hound illustrations.
