This year’s Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials promises to be as exciting as ever as Andrew Hoy aims to win the $250,000 Rolex Grand Slam of Eventing. Andrew has already won the first two events in this unique four-star series — Kentucky and Badminton — and if he can triumph at Burghley he will be only the second Grand Slam winner ever alongside Pippa Funnell.

Changes to this year’s event include the loss of the road and tracks and steeplechase phases, which have allowed the cross-country start and finish to be moved into Ring 2 bringing spectators even closer to the excitement. This year’s cross-country course features a number of new challenges for horse and rider, courtesy of current course designer Mark Phillips.

As well as avenues of shops, the Burghley Lifestyle Pavilion, The Country Living Pavilion and the Rural Crafts Pavilion include some of the finest and more unusual suppliers, some of whom only exhibit at Burghley.
