Laura Bechtolsheimer
The youngest-ever British national champion, Laura Bechtolsheimer has more than ably demonstrated her credentials for a team place with Douglas Dorsey at numerous international competitions. They qualified for this year ‘s World Cup final, where they won the B-final, and have repeatedly produced strong kür performances to score more than 70%.
Wayne Channon
With an exciting new freestyle to music produced by the best kür composers around, businessman turned dressage rider Wayne Channon looks set to be a huge asset to the British squad for the World Equestrian Games. Wayne and Lorenzo have previous demonstrated their ability to impress and are currently fine-tuning their performance to ensure they peak in Aachen.
Emma Hindle
Emma Hindle and Lancet have both carried the burden of their country’s hopes on their shoulders before, but the 2006 World Equestrian Games will be the first time they do so together. Emma has been a regular British team member in recent years with her now retired partner Wie Weltmeyer, while Lancet was Holland’s second best scoring horse at the Athens Olympics behind Anky van Grunsven’s Salinero.
Sandy Phillips
Sandy Phillips brings a wealth of experience to the squad having competed at three WEGs, one Olympics and one European Championships for Britain and America. Sandy resigned as a British selector earlier this year to concentrate on competing. She and Lara 106 have produced solid performances at international level and look set to be an important team member in Aachen.
