Tickets for Britain’s two biggest autumn horse trials have gone on sale. The box offices for both the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (30 August-2 September) and the SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials (13-16 September) are now open and are offering advance discounts.
Four-star event Burghley attracted more than 165,000 visitors last year, offering visitors the opportunity to see some of the world’s greatest riders in action, plus more than 600 trade stands.
This year the World Equestrian Games in Tryon, North Carolina, take place the week after Burghley which means some riders will be hot-footing it straight from the British four-star to get on a plane to the US.
Burghley has said that this year the online booking process has been improved, so ticket purchase will be more “streamlined”. It has also extended its box office opening hours to include weekends for those wishing to book over the phone. Another introduction at this year’s event will be the launch of ‘Burghley Radio’, earpieces, which will be available to buy from the box office alongside tickets, passes and memberships.
Advanced ticket prices start at £15 and more information on prices and the packages on offer can be found here.

Blenheim also offers world-class eventing action, boasting both the prestigious British championship for eight- and nine-year-old horses and one of Europe’s most highly regarded CCI3* competitions.
Organisers continue to make year-on-year improvements to the event, one of which this year is changes to ticket options with the cheapest for advanced bookings being £14.
Also, in order to optimise space and improve the experience for campers, two options are now offered – a larger, premier site and the standard-sized camping pitch.
Event director Mandy Hervieu said: “After each year’s event we review our stakeholders’ comments to see how we can further improve the event and their experience of the sport. As well as considering new attractions and activities and making sure the delivery of facilities and service is up to standard, we continually assess what the event provides with a view to giving good value for money and delivering a showcase of world-class sport.”
Online bookings for Burghley tickets can be made here. The box office phone number is 08445 814980 and is open 9am-7pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm during weekends
