Haggs Wood Stud breeds and produces top quality Thoroughbred and Irish Draughts for competition and showing.
We are an approved R.O.R (reschooling of racehorses) centre and have a DEFRA-approved Artificial Insemination Technician on site.
As well as our own youngstock, we also take clients youngstock in for breaking and preparation for showing, competition and for sales and racing. We also take in clients horses for selling and mares for foaling and weaning.
For the 2006 stud season we are standing two stallions — ONE MORE TIGER pictured below (TB), and J P LIBERTY as well as offering an insemination service for mares coming in for other stallions.
One More Tiger TB, 1998, dark bay 16.3hh, is the only stallion son of the infamous JAVA TIGER out of One For The Road, by Warpath. His first crop of foals are now two-year-olds and have made up to more than 10 times his stud fee.
Mr Vin Toulson has purchased two of our foals and says about One More Tiger: “He is the best horse I have seen in many years. He reminds me of Firework Night. He has everything you look for in a stallion”.
Stephen Hadley has also seen him and says: “He is a lovely big scopey horse with the quality to produce top class event horses.”
