What’s new: Tyne Riding Welly

  • The British autumn weather heralds the arrival of muddy gateways and signals that it’s time to get out your Wellington boots. If yours are looking rather the worse for wear, or have developed a leak since last winter, then the Tyne Riding Welly from The Original Muck Boot Company could be just what you need.

This waterproof boot combines the practicality of a Wellington with the design of a long riding boot, making it extremely useful for the busy owner/rider or full-time groom. These versatile boots can be worn for wet and dirty jobs around the yard, such as bringing horses in from the field, before being hosed off and used to go riding in, removing the need for a change of footwear.

The boots are made from durable neoprene covered by a watertight rubber outer around the foot and ankle, which combine to insulate the foot and lower leg, keeping them warm and dry. The welly is lined with a thin moisture-controlled material that draws away perspiration to allow the foot to breathe, while the upper part of the boot has a soft nubuck outer cover.

The Tyne Riding Welly is narrower than a traditional Wellington for a closer and more comfortable fit, but will stretch to accommodate the wide variety of calf sizes. The boot has a clean, lightly treaded natural rubber sole with a prominent heel, to give grip in slippery conditions and prevent the foot slipping through the stirrup.

It also has a hardened toe area for improved toe protection and a reflective finger-pull can be turned out to give improved visibility when riding on roads.

The Tyne Riding Welly is available in black only in UK sizes 4-12. The boots costs around £64 per pair.
