Bid for a day with Leslie Law

  • Would you like to spend a day with the current Olympic Eventing champion Leslie Law at his yard in Worcestershire? You could watching the expert in action as he schools his horses at home, or maybe you would like to chat about his amazing experience at the Athens Olympics over lunch.

This “money can’t buy” opportunity will become a reality for one lucky person as part of BT’s Big Listen Week (25 – 31 October 2004). Big Listen Week is part of BT’s ongoing Big Listen campaign, which was launched in October 2002 to encourage more adults to listen to young people.

A celebrity eBay auction is just one of the Big Listen fund raising events taking place over the next seven days in support of ChildLine, the UK’s free, 24-hour helpline for children and young people in danger and distress.

Leslie Law is among a host of celebrities who are giving up their time to support the invaluable work of ChildLine. Other celebrity auction items up for grabs include tea at the Ritz with Jackie Collins, lunch and a singing lesson with Katie Melua and the chance to create an organic meal with Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall.

Beth Courtier, head of charity programmes at BT, says: “We are delighted that so many celebrities have come forward to support the second annual Big Listen. We hope that the involvement of these celebrities will highlight the importance of adults listening to young people and that the auction will raise lots of cash for ChildLine to help them answer more calls from children in danger or distress.”

You can place a bid by visiting www.biglisten.co.uk and clicking on the “Big Auction” link.
