Young Rider European Championships
The short-list for the Young Rider European Championships, which are due to take place in Portugal at the end of September, has been announced, with Alexandra Postolowsky and Isabelle Taylor heading the list of 15 riders.
Alexandra rode Diplomatic Jack into third place at Burgie CCI**, following up her impressive season so far. She is also short-listed with Flint Curtis.
Isabelle Taylor has made a tremendous comeback this season after breaking her back in a fall at Lummen last year. She beat an international field into second place on Flurry Knox V at Windsor in May, and has had an immaculate season with the 9-year-old.
There is plenty of other serious talent in the short-list line-up: Molly Key was eighth at Bramham with Glencara, while Harry Meade was just a whisker behind her in 13th on Midnight Dazzler, a ride he took over from William Fox-Pitt.
Junior European Championships
The Under 18s Championships at Chepstow CCI* got the junior eventing season truly underway. All three top spots earned riders Holly Wick, Jolyse Clancey and Philippa Ariss, a place on the short list for the Junior European Championships in Pratoni at the beginning of September.
Holly Wick was crowned under 18 champion with Redoubtable II, the combination achieving their best result to date. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old Jolyse Clancey has barely been out of the placings with On Song this season, and her results with her other rides bear testament to true talent in the making.
The 18-year-old Tamsyn Hutchins has also been making something of a name for herself this season, with a first at Weston Park earlier this season on Tully Lane, with the partnership consolidating their form at Windsor CCI**.
