Mary King set for Athens

  • Mary King has been chosen to accompany the British eventing team to Athens as the travelling reserve with the 16-year-old King Solomon following an impressive performance during team training at Waresley Park last week.

Mary King makes the Olympic trip for the fourth consecutive time, although it will be King Solomon’s first experience of the games, albeit as reserve. Mary was 12th at Barcelona and Atlanta with King William, and seventh in Sydney with Star Appeal

Polly Stockton (Tangleman) and Bumble Thomas (The Psephologist) will be expected to continue preparing for the Olympics, and be ready to be called up at a moment’s notice. Reserves can be flown out right up until the first vetting of the competition.
