A college fund set up for the daughter of the late Philippa Humphreys has raised more than £66,000.
Philippa died in a cross-country fall at Jersey Fresh Horse Trials in the US on 14 May.
She leaves behind her husband, Peter Humphreys, and six-month-old daughter Millie.
Joanie Morris, the United States Equestrian Federation’s managing director of eventing, set up a donation page for Millie after Philippa’s tragic accident.
It has so far received donations from 700 individuals and the amount raised stands at $95,503 (£66,224.95).
On Wednesday (8 June), Peter thanked everyone for their “generous contributions”.
“I’m genuinely speechless at the generosity and we have been touched deeply by such kindness and the massive response to the fund,” he said.
“I want to thank not only the equestrian community, but also my friends, coworkers and fishing pals that didn’t know Philly too well, but have all contributed to help Millie. I’m so thankful.”
The family of Caitlyn Fischer, the 19-year-old Australian eventer who died in a fall at Sydney International Horse Trials on 30 April, are among the supporters.
“I especially want to thank Caitlyn’s mum Ailsa and her family for encouraging donations to Millie in Caitlyn’s name,” added Peter.
“So kind in such difficult times for Caitlyn’s family. Millie will be helped greatly by your generous and selfless gesture. Your family is in our thoughts and prayers.
“As a small gesture, we have made a donation to the collapsible fence fund in honour of Caitlyn, Olivia and my darling Philly.
“With my deepest thanks, ‘kick on’.”
